Sight For Sore Eyes

Right about this time every year, our visual senses are pushed and pulled between network channels, through double theater doors, and via our personal laptop computers in order to take part in the fall line-up. But wouldn't it be awesome, for once, to take notice of the not-so-hyped-up-but-should-be-hyped-up smart and witty entertainment that doesn't necessarily have the bells and wells to garnish? Here is a line-up that will keep your stunner shades on:

Anthony Bourdain spins-off of Anthony Bourdain in The Travel Channel's: The Layover which premieres on November 21st. Think of it as the video version of the oh so famous Not-For-Tourists' Guides. Here's a sneak preview of the season ahead:

In search of a story with a protagonist who happens upon a homeless man with a pink unicorn head in an effort to retrieve his bike? Director Jorge Enrique Ponce explores the in-between-dom from here to there to kingdom come in #omgimtrending. Currently on the film festival circuit, #omgimtrending is yet another reason to "do yo thang" on kickstarter.com. Check out the trailer:

You NEED to watch The Subpranos: Season 1 and wait for a Season 2. To get your palettes wet, check out an interview between the creators, Chrissie Fit and my friend Cyrina Fiallo, and Denise Flores de la Rosa and Giovana Stratetelli - respectively:

In the same vein as The Subpranos is First Edition - a sometimes voyeuristic view into the comic book realm equipped with super heroes with super powers and super actors, like one of my besties Tamara Carey. Check out an episode from Season 1:

Happy viewing!
