Mad Nostalgia

(as seen: Banana Republic)

In honor of the awards season and the unpredictable Emmys aired yesterday in the hot heat of downtown Los Angeles, I thought I'd take note of the most recent collaboration between Hollywood and capitalism, which, for all intents and purposes, go hand-in-hand like butter to bread. Great advertising for both sides of this fashion tennis court, Mad Men's speed has seem to slow down since it's freshman introduction 4 years ago, but without us taking notice of one of its most lasting impressions - mens fashion at the top of the food chain. High fashion is not available only to Hollywood's elite or the CEO's of the Fortune 500 list, it's found at your local mall, sans pretentious attitude. Isn't that how the cards should play? Fashion for the masses?
