The Father of Midcentury Modern

On this the eve of the anniversary of the death of Julius Shulman, I take a moment to remember and pay homage to The Father of Midcentury Modern. Why is he the father of the most celebrated design era in history? Because, just like the proud dad of a successful home run hitter, he gave birth to what architects couldn't do on their own - give their designs the breath of life. For those of us who didn't have the means to venture out on our own to view these icons, Julius Shulman became our eyes.

Case Study House #22: Los Angeles

Shulman is quite simply and quintessentially "Los Angeles." Here's to looking through your eyes. Here's to looking at YOU kid! ;0)
