The kick-off to this weekend's Dwell on Design at the LA Convention Center began with the design trade Friday where industry professionals stood in line for 30 minutes to register were introduce (and at times reintroduced) to the newest - and might I add: green - innovations in product design.
Perhaps my favorite exhibit at DOD was Molo Design's overscaled booth made with a modular system using "flexible honeycomb elements of various heights, colours, and materials" that connect with each other to form a continuous wall - great for your Manhattan apartment or your downtown LA loft.
Another great innovation out of the folks at Molo Design is the Cappello Lamp made from the recycled materials from the very famous Arco Lamps designed by Castiglioni.
Tickets for the 6th annual Dwell on Design are still on sale until the last day on Sunday, June 26, 2011. It's definitely a "breathable" design expo as opposed to that "other" design expo.
