Nothing Short of Grand

Parisian-native, Fabien Castanier - curator extraordinaire, opens his new gallery doors in Studio City. A noticeable line-up of artists with a flare for controversy become agent provocateurs as Castanier displays nothing less than slick and sexy subjects.

The inaugural opening reception will take place this Saturday, April 30th at 7PM. Some of the artists featured are: Paul Beliveau, Eric Bottero, Cedric Bouteiller, jean-Claude Cuenca, Speedy Graphito, Brad Howe, Tony Soulie, Carmen Spera, Mathieu Tonetti and Rimi Yang.

Rimi Yang, a daily fixture at my work-place, illustrates her "duality of form": the idea that existence and purpose is two-fold. "Well, I do love duality in life. I do not want to transcend it. I just would like to celebrate it and dive into it," says Yang. And rightfully so, as her paintings, some as big as 8 ft. x 10 ft., sell for $25,000. You'd think one must be in a transcendent mood in order to purchase one of her pieces - not the case at all. Her work is beautiful, with just the right touch of provocation. Simple and Elegant.
